The Bulletin of the Mexican Herpetological Society

First published in March 1989 (Vol. 1, No. 1), this publication was the first means of communication among the herpetological community in Mexico and Central America. It facilitated communication among members of the national herpetological community as well as with those abroad. The initial editors of the bulletin were Dr. Oscar Flores Villela and Dr. Fausto Méndez de la Cruz, with renowned herpetologists Hobart M. Smith, Jonathan A. Campbell, and Richard C. Vogt also becoming part of the editorial board.

The Bulletin of the Mexican Herpetological Society was published semiannually until 1995. Only one issue was published between 1996 and 1998. No volumes were published between 1999 and 2000, but regular publication resumed in 2001 (2 issues per year) until its last issue in 2010 (Vol.18, No.2).
